Beth Baxter was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. After graduating in 1978 from Wishard School of Nursing, Beth worked as an RN for Wishard Hospital’s Medical Intensive Care Unit in Indianapolis for nearly two years. She then returned home to Bloomington, working for both the Bloomington Hospital in Critical Care as well as with her father, the late Neal E. Baxter MD, as his office nurse until 1987. From 1987 to 1990, she worked overseas as an RN with a missionary clinic.
In 1990, Beth returned to the Bloomington Hospital where she worked in critical care, coronary care, and the emergency department. She was the evening shift charge nurse in the ER until 1995.
In 1995, Beth completed IU’s Nurse Practitioner Program and received a Masters of Science in Nursing. She then joined a large subspecialty group in Bloomington working as an NP in the Cardiology Division as well as practiced primary care and urgent care.
Beth left the group in 2005 and opened her own Private Practice specializing in Adult Primary Health Care. She is the first NP to have a private primary care practice in Bloomington, and is Board Certified as a Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is also certified to administer Botox and Restylane.
Beth's philosophy on health care echoes that of her late father, and she is proud to provide individualized and caring healthcare by spending quality time with her patients.
Beth is also a preceptor for NP students at the IU School of Nursing and has served as Clinical Faculty for Ball State School of Nursing. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing.
